LCET is a charity set up in 1993 by a group of 45 Luton churches. Our aim is to reconnect the Christian community with young people and to make a positive difference to their lives. We work mainly in local secondary schools and colleges with young people from all backgrounds.
Our therapeutic team provide support for issues young people can face growing up. We run groups for young people who are in care, who self harm or have ADHD, and those who struggle with anger or low self esteem. There's also lots of ongoing help and weekends away.
Our chaplaincy team provides inspiration and challenge for the spiritual side of life. We help schools enhance spiritual development through assemblies, RE lessons and creative projects. We want to give the opportunity and inspiration to explore the deepest questions of life.
We're based in Luton town centre where we run a cafe and arts centre for young people. Young people can drop in to have fun, meet friends or take part in one of our drama or arts projects. There's also a programme of outdoor activities, camps and events.
LCET is overseen by a Board of Trustees with expertise in relevant areas, and who represent our stakeholders. We have ten staff and over twenty volunteers working with thousands of young people, and we want to be a positive influence for every one of them!

is passionate about making a real difference in Luton. After all, what could be more important than ‘being there’ for young people at the right moment. We're determined to move mountains to serve and support the teenagers we work with, and go the extra mile to see them reach their potential. We believe they deserve the best we can offer. It's an exciting journey and, on the way, we find ourselves inspired and challenged by the young people we meet.
