LCET offer young people aged 18 to 25 the opportunity to work with us for a year to develop new skills and gain experience of professional youth work.
Our internship programme is open to only two candidates each year either from the local community in Luton or from elsewhere in the UK. We may, in exceptional circumstances, consider applications from wider afield.
Interns have the chance to experience a vast range of activities and projects with both the chaplaincy and therapeutic teams. You'll also benefit from participating in staff continuing professional development and our staff retreats. You'll find yourself doing everything from speaking in a school assembly to working with young people in a self harm support group or helping organise a weekend residential.
We develop a specific programme for each intern, dependent on your interests and abilities, but we'll also want to stretch you to explore new skills and experiences.
We ask interns to contribute £500 to the year and, in turn, we provide a weekly £20 allowance and a one year bus pass. Accommodation for those from outside Luton may also be provided.
If you would like to know more, you are welcome to contact Ruth, who oversees our intern programme, and have a chat by phone, email, or in person, to find out more.
